Greetings and welcome to our new website:

As of August 3, 2020, we have launched this new website, changed our organization name to Help A Star, and we have started a rebranding process that will culminate with a new brand, new logo, new look, and greater efforts to support the education of children worldwide.

Please be assured that although our name has changed to Help A Star, and our logo will change, we are not changing the core mission of Swim for Life International.

While our organization will continue its work with children, we are planning on several new initiatives to reach our goals. Swim for Life will remain our core initiative but soon it will join a few other projects to compliment this task, under our organization – Help A Star. We think that we needed to expand our mission, thus, we have created a new brand for our efforts. As we decided to expand, we realized that we needed a more dynamic and improved website to support our efforts.

As this process continues, we will provide clear explanations to the changes and will provide answers to your questions.

The pandemic has clearly upended everyone’s plans and that includes us. We were in the planning stages for our third mission to Lesotho, later this year to work again with the young children that desperately need support. We postponed that trip to late 2021 at the earliest.

We have not gone into stasis during this terrible time. We are continuing our organizational work. This includes proceeding with the process of nonprofit registration.

 

Currently, we are well into the work to complete “ANBI” nonprofit status in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, the pandemic has temporarily put a hold on the work towards receiving 501(C) 3 status in the USA; we will be starting that process again soon.
